Gombe State NYSC Coordinator Chinwe Nwachuku has urged corps members to uphold patriotism and unity during their service year.
She encouraged them to apply their camp training to impact lives and communities positively.
The Gombe State Coordinator of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Chinwe Nwachuku, has urged corps members to demonstrate patriotism, loyalty, and commitment to national unity as they begin their one-year mandatory service across the state.
She made the call on Tuesday during the closing ceremony of the 2025 Batch ‘B’ Stream 2 Orientation Course held at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp in Amada, Akko Local Government Area.
Declaring the three-week orientation program closed, Nwachuku reminded the corps members that the service year provides a unique opportunity to make meaningful contributions to their host communities and the country at large.
“You must be patriots,” she said. “Wherever you find yourselves, show love for our nation and remain loyal to the ideals of unity and service that the NYSC stands for.”
The coordinator also encouraged the corps members to build on the skills they acquired during the Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) training by enrolling in post-camp workshops that will enable them to become self-reliant after service.
“Your service year is not just a national duty; it is a chance to impact lives positively and contribute to development,” she added.
Nwachuku commended the camp officials, collaborating agencies, and security operatives for their efforts in maintaining order and ensuring a successful exercise.
The event featured a valedictory parade and inter-platoon presentations showcasing the corps members’ discipline, creativity, and teamwork.
