Cubana Chief Priest Responds to Cosmas Maduka’s Criticism of “Money Na Water”
Cubana Chief Priest has responded to Coscharis boss Cosmas Maduka’s criticism of the phrase “Money na water.”
He said attention now drives wealth, calling visibility and content the new currency.
Nightlife promoter and businessman Cubana Chief Priest has fired back at billionaire Cosmas Maduka, Chairman of Coscharis Group, after the industrialist condemned the viral phrase “Money na water.”

In a lengthy Instagram post, Chief Priest argued that while Maduka’s generation built wealth through factories, fleets, and real estate, today’s generation thrives on visibility and attention, which he described as “the new currency.” He explained that in the digital age, attention drives wealth, influence, and relevance, adding that “content is digital equity” comparable to factories that once powered the economy.
Responding to Maduka’s remarks about avoiding events where money is sprayed, Chief Priest accused him of using younger celebrities to trend without acknowledgment. “Why must a billionaire pretend to use the toilet just to run away from an event?” he asked.
He further defended his slogan, insisting that “Money na water” symbolizes abundance and flow, not vanity. “The world has moved from industrial capitalism to attention capitalism. What you don’t show doesn’t sell,” he said, adding that his new anthem inspired by the phrase will drop on Friday.
