Cristiano Ronaldo Nears 1,000 Career Goals
Cristiano Ronaldo is closing in on 1,000 career goals after reaching 948 for club and country.
The 40-year-old Al Nassr star could hit the milestone by 2026 if his scoring form continues.
Portugal captain and Al Nassr forward, Cristiano Ronaldo, is closing in on one of football’s most remarkable records, 1,000 career goals.

According to Sky Sports on Wednesday, the 40-year-old superstar has now scored 948 goals across club and international matches. Of that number, 805 came from his club career and 143 for Portugal. His recent brace against Hungary in the World Cup qualifiers pushed him even closer to the milestone.
Ronaldo also became the all-time leading scorer in World Cup qualifying history, overtaking Carlos Ruiz, who had 39 goals. Lionel Messi follows in third place with 36.
Despite his age, Ronaldo continues to post impressive numbers. Since joining Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr four seasons ago, he has scored 104 goals in 117 games. In 2025 alone, he has already found the net 32 times for both club and country.
Ronaldo has maintained an exceptional level of consistency over the years, averaging more than 50 goals annually since 2010. His most prolific year was 2013, when he scored 69 goals and won the Ballon d’Or. In the past fifteen years, his tally has dipped below 39 goals only once.
With Portugal on course to qualify for next year’s World Cup and two years left on his Al Nassr contract, football analysts project that Ronaldo could become the first player in history to reach 1,000 goals by October 2026 if he maintains his current scoring pace.
