Yhemolee Laments Rising Trend of Online Begging on Social Media

Yhemolee has slammed Nigerians who constantly beg for money on social media.

He said the internet has turned into a begging site instead of a space for real interaction.

Nigerian singer and actor Idowu Adeyemi, popularly known as Yhemolee, has criticized Nigerians who use social media as a platform to beg for money.

In a recent statement, the “Mon Cheri” crooner expressed frustration over how many users have turned social platforms into what he described as “begging sites.” According to him, the internet has become a hub for people seeking financial help from strangers under the guise of social interaction.

“It’s no longer news that social media isn’t social anymore. It’s now a begging site,” he said. “The only difference is that, unlike the beggars on the street, the beggars on the internet have data.”

Yhemolee further lamented that whenever he posts pictures, the first few comments are usually filled with account numbers. He described habitual online beggars as having “a PhD in begging,” urging them to stop tagging him in such comments.
