According to her, doctors at the hospital told her that her cancer was malignant and required urgent treatment, warning that she might never have children again. Acting on their advice, she began aggressive chemotherapy, a treatment she later discovered was unnecessary.

She revealed that during her stay, she witnessed many patients, including young people and children, being treated for various cancers, with some reportedly dying. The woman said she nearly lost her own life while undergoing what she described as a “Red Devil chemo,” which left her critically ill before she was resuscitated.

The complications drained her finances and affected her business, prompting her to relocate to Lagos, where she sought further medical help at a government-owned hospital.

After several tests, doctors in Lagos informed her that she never had cancer. She said the Benin hospital initially refused to release her tissue sample for re-examination, only relenting after she threatened legal action, and it was later discovered that the sample belonged to a male patient.

“It’s crazy that a doctor will do this to me. They damaged me; they finished me,” she said, showing her burnt scalp an effect of the chemotherapy.

The woman added that the hospital has since reached out, seeking an out-of-court settlement, but she has refused, vowing to pursue justice in court.
