The Super Eagles have climbed four spots to 41st in the latest FIFA world rankings.
Their rise follows recent wins over Lesotho and Benin, placing them fifth in Africa.
The Super Eagles of Nigeria have climbed four places in the latest FIFA men’s world rankings released on Friday. The update by the Federation of International Football Association (FIFA) shows Nigeria now sits in the 41st position, up from their previous 45th spot.

The improvement follows the team’s back-to-back victories over Lesotho’s Crocodiles and Benin Republic’s Squirrels in their recent qualifying matches. With this progress, the three-time African champions have also broken into the top five on the continent, ranking behind Morocco, Senegal, Egypt, and Algeria.
Football analysts say the upward movement reflects Nigeria’s growing consistency and renewed energy under coach Eric Chelle. Fans across the country have also expressed optimism that the national team can build on this momentum ahead of future international competitions.
Globally, Spain continues to lead the ranking, followed by Argentina in second place, while France, England, and Portugal complete the world’s top five teams.
