My People Are Now in Love with Their Oppressors, Mr Macaroni Remembers October 20, 2020 Lekki Tollgate K!llings
Mr Macaroni has remembered the 2020 #EndSARS tragedy at the Lekki Tollgate with an emotional post.
He lamented that many Nigerians now glorify the same leaders blamed for their suffering.
Comedian and activist Debo Adebayo, popularly known as Mr Macaroni, has taken to social media to reflect on the tragic events of October 20, 2020, at the Lekki Tollgate during the #EndSARS protests.

Nigerians had gathered at the tollgate and other parts of the country four years ago to demand an end to police brutality and extrajudicial k!llings. However, the peaceful protest turned bloody when security operatives allegedly opened fire on demonstrators, leading to loss of lives and widespread outrage.
Marking the anniversary, Mr Macaroni expressed deep sorrow and disappointment over the state of the nation, lamenting that many Nigerians now idolize the same leaders responsible for their suffering.
“Nigerian youths lost their lives, jobs, families, and dreams at the hands of the most corrupt and evil people we call leaders,” he wrote on Instagram. “Even though my people are now in love with their oppressors, this day 20/10/2020 is never to be forgotten nor forgiven.”
