ADC Suspends South-South Vice Chairman Usani Over Alleged Misconduct and Anti-Party Activities
ADC has suspended its South-South Vice Chairman over alleged misconduct and anti-party activities.
The party said his suspension will stand pending an internal investigation.
The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has suspended its National Vice Chairman for the South-South region, Dr. Usani Uguru Usani, over allegations of misconduct, insubordination, and anti-party activities.

The decision followed a meeting of the party’s State Working Committee (SWC) in Cross River State held on October 15, 2025. In a statement issued on Monday in Abuja by the State Publicity Secretary, Hon. James Otudor, the ADC said Dr. Usani’s conduct in recent times had violated the provisions of the party’s constitution.
According to the statement, the committee reviewed multiple petitions accusing Dr. Usani of actions capable of undermining the unity and credibility of the ADC. “In line with the party’s constitution and disciplinary guidelines, Dr. Usani’s suspension takes immediate effect and will remain in place pending the conclusion of an internal investigation by the appropriate party organs,” the statement read.
The committee also criticized the appointment of Ms. Jackie Wayas as the party’s Deputy National Publicity Secretary, alleging that her selection was made without due consultation with the Cross River State chapter. It said Ms. Wayas had failed to engage with state leaders since her appointment and that her loyalty to the party’s unity and growth was questionable.
The SWC called on the ADC’s national leadership to review her appointment and replace her with a “competent, credible, and media-savvy” representative from Cross River State who embodies the ideals of the party.
Additionally, the committee raised concerns about members of the Coalition Movement who publicly declared their intention to join the ADC but had yet to complete their registration. It warned that the party would not tolerate dual membership or allow individuals to exploit its platform while maintaining ties with other political groups.
All coalition members were directed to formalize their registration at their respective ward levels within seven days, ending Saturday, October 25, 2025, or risk exclusion from leadership and decision-making activities within the ADC.
