Diddy Files Appeal Against Conviction and 50-Month Prison Sentence
American rapper Sean “Diddy” Combs has filed an appeal against his 50-month prison sentence.
His lawyers argue the judge overstepped by “second guessing” the jury’s decision during sentencing.
Newskobo.com earlier reported that music mogul Diddy has been sentenced to 50 months in prison after being convicted on charges related to prostitution.
American rapper and producer Sean “Diddy” Combs has filed an appeal challenging his recent conviction and prison sentence. The 55-year-old music executive received a 50-month prison sentence after being convicted on two counts related to transporting individuals for prostitution. However, he was cleared of the more serious allegations of sex trafficking and racketeering.

Two weeks after his sentencing, Diddy’s legal team submitted a two-page “notice of appeal” to the Federal District Court in New York. His attorney, Marc Agnifilo, said further details of the appeal will be filed later, emphasizing that the defense believes the judge “second guessed the jury” during sentencing.
“What we feel happened today was that the judge acted as a 13th juror,” Agnifilo said. “The jury’s verdict was resoundingly clear there was no sex trafficking, no racketeering. Everything was consensual and between adults.”
Prosecutors had pushed for an 11-year sentence, while the defense sought 14 months. Ultimately, Judge Arun Subramanian sentenced Diddy to 50 months and fined him $500,000, calling it “hard time” but reminding him there is “light at the end of the tunnel.”
Before sentencing, Diddy admitted his behavior was “disgusting, shameful and sick,” expressing remorse and apologizing to his mother, Janice, in court.
