Super Eagles forward Victor Osimhen has been shortlisted for the 2025 CAF Men’s Player of the Year award. The Galatasaray striker, who clinched the honor in 2023, will face stiff competition from some of Africa’s top stars.
Among those nominated are Egypt’s Mohamed Salah, Morocco’s Achraf Hakimi, Guinea’s Serhou Guirassy, Congo’s Fiston Mayele, Cameroon’s Frank Anguissa, and Gabon’s Denis Bouanga.
Osimhen’s consistent performances for both club and country have kept him in the spotlight, earning him another shot at the prestigious continental prize. His nomination adds to Nigeria’s strong representation in African football, following Ademola Lookman’s victory last year.
The Confederation of African Football is expected to announce the winner later this year, based on players’ overall impact, achievements, and influence throughout the season.
