Gunmen have abducted three female INEC officials along Aloma Road in Kogi State.
The victims were travelling from Abuja to Anambra on election duty when the attack occurred.
Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers have abducted three officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Kogi State.

The victims, all women, were reportedly seized along the Aloma Road on Tuesday evening, October 21, 2025. They were said to be travelling from Abuja to Anambra State on official duty ahead of the forthcoming governorship election when the attack occurred.
Eyewitnesses said the armed men ambushed the vehicle conveying the INEC staff, opened fire, and shattered its windscreen before taking the women away to an unknown location. The attack caused panic among motorists and commuters in the area, who fled for safety as the gunmen operated freely.
Security operatives have since been alerted, and efforts are underway to locate and rescue the abducted officials. The Kogi State Police Command and INEC are yet to issue official statements on the incident.
The abduction adds to growing security concerns in the lead-up to the Anambra governorship election, with stakeholders urging authorities to strengthen protection for electoral officers and materials ahead of the polls.
