A Catholic priest, Fr. Kelvin Ugwu, has weighed in on the reported marital crisis between Nigerian politician Ned Nwoko and actress Regina Daniels, accusing both of being driven by greed and self-interest.
In a statement shared on social media, the priest said neither party has any moral ground to complain about the current state of their marriage because they both entered into it for selfish reasons. According to him, Ned was obsessed with finding a virgin, while Regina was fixated on acquiring wealth, and each got exactly what they desired.
Fr. Ugwu described their union as a transaction rather than a marriage, arguing that it was built on material and physical motives rather than love or spiritual foundation.
He said, “Ned was looking for a virgin, and Regina was looking for wealth. They both got what they wanted. What they had was not marriage but a contract driven by greed.”
The priest added that both are now experiencing the consequences of their choices, stressing that relationships built on greed and vanity rarely stand the test of time.
