He praised Arsenal’s form after their 4-0 win over Atletico Madrid, calling them serious contenders.
Thierry Henry has tipped Arsenal, Bayern Munich, and Paris Saint-Germain as his top contenders for this season’s UEFA Champions League title.
The Arsenal legend made the selection following the Gunners’ 4-0 victory over Atletico Madrid on Tuesday night. During CBS Sports’ coverage of the match, host Kate Scott disclosed that Henry had expressed strong confidence in Mikel Arteta’s team alongside two European heavyweights, Bayern and PSG.
“Thierry spoke about Arsenal in very high terms and put them beside Bayern Munich and PSG as favorites for this competition now,” Scott said. She then asked fellow pundit Jamie Carragher if he shared Henry’s belief in Arsenal’s chances.
The convincing win at the Emirates Stadium featured goals from Gabriel Magalhaes, Gabriel Martinelli, and a brace from Viktor Gyokeres, sending a statement about Arsenal’s growing strength in Europe.
Paris Saint-Germain, the reigning champions, are also expected to put up a strong title defense after their emphatic 5-0 win over Inter Milan in last season’s final held in Germany.
