Addressing officials at the Independent National Electoral Commission headquarters shortly after the ceremony, Amupitan said one of his top priorities is to rebuild public trust in the electoral process. He stressed that citizens must be confident that their votes truly count, adding that his leadership will focus on ensuring credibility and fairness in every election.

He highlighted the forthcoming governorship election in Anambra State as his first major test and urged INEC staff to work with dedication to deliver a transparent and acceptable poll.

According to him, staff welfare will also receive serious attention, as a motivated workforce is vital to achieving credible elections. “We will make sure our working conditions are improved and our personnel are well-equipped to perform effectively,” he stated.

Amupitan described his appointment as a divine opportunity to serve the nation and called for teamwork among INEC staff. He reminded them that the credibility of elections should never be compromised and that every officer must uphold the core values of democracy.
