Security expert Zagazola Makama reported that the attack occurred around 3:00 a.m. on October 22, 2025, when armed men stormed the home of Mr. Zakari Yelwa, the Principal of Narati Government Secondary School, located opposite the Technical College in Abaji.

The attackers reportedly broke into the residence and whisked away Yelwa and his daughter, Hafsat Zakari, to an undisclosed location. Following a distress call, a joint team of police officers, the Anti-Kidnapping Unit, local vigilantes, and hunters was dispatched to the area.

The team has since begun a coordinated search through nearby forests and rocky terrain in an effort to locate and rescue the victims. Police authorities have assured residents that every possible measure is being taken to secure the release of the hostages and urged anyone with helpful information to come forward.
