Zenith General Insurance has donated food and essential supplies to two Lagos orphanages as part of its community outreach.
The company said the gesture shows its commitment to supporting vulnerable children.
Zenith General Insurance Limited has extended support to two Lagos orphanages, Heritage Homes and Children Anchor Orphanage, through donations of food items and essential supplies as part of its corporate social responsibility program.
The company said in a statement that the gesture reflects its commitment to improving the lives of vulnerable children and strengthening community bonds.
During the visits, senior staff members from Zenith General Insurance restated the organization’s goal of giving back to society. Edith Agu, Senior Manager for Head Office Marketing and South-South branches, said the initiative was aimed at reminding the children that they are cared for and valued.
“We want them to know that Zenith Insurance cares about them and their well-being,” she said. Agu also encouraged more companies to create budgets for social impact projects despite economic difficulties.
At the Children Anchor Orphanage Home, supervisor Olajide Bankole appreciated the visit and described the support as timely. He noted that running the home, which shelters more than 35 children, depends largely on donations and public goodwill. “We are really grateful. We are not the only orphanage, but you chose us,” he said.
The Heritage Home was established to provide shelter for abandoned or orphaned children and help connect them with caregivers.
Abimbola Sarumi, the company’s Deputy Head of IT, said the visit was meant “to put extra smiles on the faces of our children, our tomorrow.”
Head of Internal Control and Audit, Muyiwa Aderibigbe, added that the outreach mirrors Zenith’s values, especially empathy. He urged other firms to “join this train of making an impact in society and touching people beyond profit.”
Both orphanages expressed joy and gratitude for the donations and looked forward to continued partnership with Zenith General Insurance.
