Anambra Police are investigating a viral video showing teenagers forcing a minor into a cult act.
Officers aim to find the child and arrest everyone involved while urging residents to provide clues.
The Anambra State Police Command has launched an inquiry into a viral video circulating on social media that appears to show a group of teenagers forcing a minor into a cult-related ritual.

In a statement, the Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, said early findings indicate the incident likely occurred in a community within the state. He described the actions depicted as grave violations of the law and a threat to the safety and moral wellbeing of children.
According to Ikenga, the Commissioner of Police, CP Ikioye Orutugu, has directed multiple specialized units including the Anti-Cultism Squad, Juvenile Welfare Office and the State Intelligence Unit to work together in uncovering the full details behind the video.
Their mandate, he said, includes confirming the source of the recording, locating the child seen in the footage, and identifying all the individuals involved in the alleged initiation.
Ikenga noted that the Commissioner strongly rejects any form of child exploitation, coercion, or indoctrination, stressing that the state will not hesitate to prosecute anyone found responsible.
The police also appealed to residents to assist with useful information that could aid the investigation. Members of the public can report anonymously through emergency line 112, 07039194332 or reach the Police PRO on 08039334002.
Ikenga assured that anyone who comes forward will be protected, and every report will be handled discreetly.
