Nigerian singer Seyi Shay has expressed her willingness to reconcile with fellow music star Tiwa Savage after years of tension between them.
Speaking in a recent interview, Seyi addressed their long-standing rift, emphasizing that she holds no resentment toward Tiwa and is open to a fresh start. She explained that her involvement in a Pepsi campaign years ago, often believed to be the cause of their disagreement, was strictly a brand decision and never a personal attack.
She noted that both artists were operating under immense pressure within a highly competitive industry at the time, which contributed to miscommunication and escalated conflict, including a diss track and their widely publicized clash inside a Lagos salon in 2021.
Seyi said age and personal growth have now helped her view the situation differently, admitting she would have handled things more calmly if given another chance.
“There’s no bad blood on my end; only respect and acknowledgement of her contribution to the industry,” she said. “Life is too short for lingering tension. If talking things out helps reset the narrative and sets a better example for women in music, I’m open to it privately or publicly.”
