The players’ union announced a 26-player shortlist on Monday, featuring nominees selected through votes from professional footballers across various countries. Alozie’s inclusion reflects her impressive progress over the past year and her strong contribution to Nigerian football.

Alozie played a key part in the Super Falcons’ brilliant run at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco. She delivered one of the most memorable moments of the tournament when she scored the decisive goal in Nigeria’s semi-final win against South Africa. Her consistent quality throughout the competition also earned her a spot in the WAFCON Team of the Tournament.

The Houston Dash right-back now stands among some of the best defenders in the world, with other nominees such as Lucy Bronze, Ona Batlle, Millie Bright, Alex Greenwood, Olga Carmona, Ellie Carpenter, and Leah Williamson.

The final FIFPRO Women’s World XI will be officially announced on Monday, November 3, 2025, and Nigerian fans will be watching closely to see if Alozie earns a well-deserved place in the global best eleven.
