He thanked family fans and supporters while preparing for his anniversary concert live in Abuja.
Nigerian music legend Innocent “2Baba” Idibia has written a heartfelt open letter as he prepares to celebrate 25 years in the music industry.
The award-winning singer shared the message ahead of his anniversary concert scheduled for November 14, 2025, at the Congress Hall of Transcorp Hilton, Abuja. He expressed deep gratitude to everyone who has played a role in his success since the early days of his career.
In the letter titled “Open Letter of Gratitude – 2Baba @ 25 Years in the Industry,” the iconic hitmaker thanked his wife, family, friends, fans, and several key figures who helped shape his journey.
Reflecting on his long career, he wrote:
“As I stand on the threshold of 25 years in this incredible journey called music, my heart is full, full of gratitude, memories, lessons, and love… This celebration is not mine alone. It belongs to everyone who played a role in shaping the story of Innocent Idibia, 2Baba.”
2Baba specially acknowledged those who believed in him before fame, including Nelson Brown, Baba Keke & D1, Eddie Lawani, and DJ Jimmy Jatt, noting that each contributed greatly to his breakthrough and growth in the industry.
He also celebrated his former Plantashun Boiz members, BlackFace and Faze, saying their legacy remains timeless.
“Our story cannot and will never be complete without you… We had our differences, but time has shown that the roots we planted together still bear fruit.”
2Baba further appreciated his longtime manager, Efe Omorogbe, describing him as a loyal brother who has stood with him through every challenge.
In his closing note, the “African Queen” star thanked fans and the entire entertainment community for supporting him for over two decades.
“Finally… As I prepare to celebrate 25 years in this industry on November 14, 2025… I want to say this from the depth of my heart: ‘Without you, there’d be no me’… I am because you believed.”
