CAF Fixes Dates, Venue as Super Eagles Face Gabon in World Cup Playoff
Nigeria will battle Gabon in next year’s World Cup playoff qualifiers in Morocco.
Four African teams will fight for the continent’s final ticket to the 2026 tournament.
The Confederation of African Football has announced that Nigeria will face Gabon in the 2026 FIFA World Cup Inter-Continental Playoff qualifiers scheduled for next year in Morocco.

The mini-tournament will hold in Rabat from November 13 to 16, 2025. It will feature four teams battling for Africa’s last slot at the expanded World Cup. The countries involved are Nigeria, Gabon, Cameroon, and DR Congo.
CAF confirmed that the semi-final fixtures will take place on November 13, with two venues selected: El Barid Stadium and Prince Moulay El Hassan Sports Complex. A draw on October 30, 2025 will assign the exact stadium for each match.
Nigeria’s Super Eagles will take on Gabon at 17:00 local time, while Cameroon and DR Congo will clash at 20:00. The winners will progress to the final on November 16 at the Prince Héritier Moulay El Hassan Stadium.
The champion of this playoff will then represent Africa in the FIFA Inter-Continental Playoff in March 2026, where they will try to secure the continent’s 10th and final World Cup ticket.
This tournament serves as the final route for one of the four teams to join Africa’s already confirmed representatives at the global showpiece in the United States, Mexico, and Canada.
