Super Falcons Qualify for 2026 WAFCON After Abeokuta Draw
Nigeria’s Super Falcons have qualified for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
They advanced with a strong aggregate win over Benin Republic in the final round.
The Super Falcons of Nigeria have confirmed their qualification for the 2026 CAF Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, continuing their long run as a top force in African women’s football.

Nigeria earned their spot after a solid two-leg performance against Benin Republic. They claimed a 2-0 win in the first leg played in Cotonou, giving them the advantage before returning home for the second match. In the final leg on Tuesday, October 28, the Falcons held Benin to a 1-1 draw in Abeokuta to complete the job.
The result gave Nigeria a 3-1 aggregate victory, making it their 16th straight qualification for the continental championship. The team has never missed any edition of the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations since the tournament began, showing their strong consistency over the years.
With this achievement, the ten-time African champions join host nation Morocco as one of the first teams confirmed for the 2026 competition. The Falcons will now shift focus to preparing for the tournament where they will look to reclaim the title and continue their proud history in African football.
