Having celebrated the 2025 World Breast Cancer Day on the 1st of October, 2025, she made the call in her message to remind many, noting that early screening saves lives and reduces the impact of the disease.

“As women, we must care for ourselves and one another. For those battling with cancer, let us stand with them in love, strength and hope,” she said. “Together, we can build a future where no one faces cancer alone. Behind every cancer diagnosis is a face, a name, and a life that deserves care and dignity.”

Mrs Dauda-Lawal urged women across Zamfara and Nigeria to go for regular check-ups and support awareness initiatives that help prevent and treat cancer.

She also praised Zamfara women for their resilience and assured them of her continued advocacy for cancer prevention, improved awareness, and access to quality healthcare.

The Zamfara First Lady currently serves as the National Secretary of the First Ladies Against Cancer (FLAC), a coalition of governors’ wives championing cancer control through advocacy, policy reforms, and community outreach.
