Elon Musk Becomes World’s First Person to Reach $500 Billion Net Worth
Elon Musk has become the first person ever to reach a net worth of $500 billion.
His fortune surged after Tesla’s stock rebounded sharply, boosting confidence in his expanding business empire.
Elon Musk has set a new record as the first person in history to reach a net worth of $500 billion. His fortune briefly crossed the milestone following a strong rally in Tesla’s stock this year.

The Tesla and SpaceX founder, who also owns social platform X and artificial intelligence company xAI, saw his wealth climb to about $499.1 billion after briefly touching $500 billion. The surge followed a 14% increase in Tesla’s share price, marking a solid rebound for the electric carmaker.
Tesla’s stock began the year at $427.90 but dropped to $220.67 amid controversy over Musk’s short-lived position in Donald Trump’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). After leaving the post in May, Musk resumed his full focus on Tesla, helping to restore investor confidence and fuel the company’s recovery.
His vast wealth comes from multiple ventures including SpaceX, Neuralink, and xAI, all valued in the billions. Analysts predict that if his current financial growth continues, Musk could become the world’s first trillionaire in the coming years.
If treated as a national economy, Musk’s $500 billion fortune would rank just below Austria, ahead of countries such as Norway, Malaysia, and South Africa. His net worth is said to be about 35 times greater than the combined value of all Premier League football clubs, and 125 times the estimated $4 billion worth of Britain’s Crown Jewels.
