Kano Police Arrest Armed Robbers, Recover Car Stolen From Air Force Officer in Abuja
Kano police have arrested two suspected robbers who stole a vehicle from an Air Force officer in Abuja.
The suspects were caught after a gun battle along the Kano-Zaria Expressway.
The Kano State Police Command has arrested two suspected armed robbers who allegedly stole a vehicle belonging to an Air Force officer during a robbery in Abuja.

Police spokesperson, SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, confirmed the arrest in a statement on Wednesday, October 29, 2025. He said the suspects snatched a Ford Escape from the officer at gunpoint during an attack on his residence in Karu, Abuja.
According to Kiyawa, the operation followed credible intelligence and swift action by operatives. “At about 3:15 a.m., armed robbers stormed a house in Karu, robbed cash, mobile phones, and an Air Force officer’s vehicle. Intelligence revealed the suspects were heading to Kano,” the statement said.
The Anti-Kidnapping Squad reportedly intercepted the stolen vehicle along the Kano-Zaria Expressway near Salbas Filling Station. During the confrontation, the suspects opened fire, but police subdued and arrested two of them.
The suspects were identified as Adamu Adam Abubakar of Zoo Road, Kano, and Umar Bello of Nasarawa Dirkania, Kaduna State. A third suspect, identified as Dan Malam, escaped with a pistol and some stolen items.
Commissioner of Police, CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, commended the Intelligence Unit of the Force Headquarters for its support and praised his operatives for their efforts. He urged residents to continue sharing useful information with the police to enhance security, assuring that the fleeing suspect will be tracked down and prosecuted.
