Prof Mohammed Kida appointed new Vice-Chancellor of FULafia
The Federal University of Lafia has appointed Professor Mohammed Isa Kida as its new Vice-Chancellor.
He will assume office in February 2026 for a single five-year tenure.
The Federal University of Lafia has announced the appointment of Professor Mohammed Isa Kida as its new Vice-Chancellor. His appointment was confirmed in a letter dated October 29, 2025.

According to the document, Professor Kida will serve a single five-year term beginning on February 11, 2026. The university’s governing council expressed confidence that he will use his experience to promote academic excellence and institutional growth.
Professor Kida, a respected academic and professional accountant, previously served as the Dean of the Faculty of Management Science.
He will take over from Professor Shehu Abdul Rahman, whose tenure as Vice-Chancellor ends in February 2026.
The Chairman of the University’s Governing Council, Mrs. Lola Fibisola Akande, officially presented the appointment letter to Professor Kida, marking the start of a new leadership phase for the institution.
