Yvonne Jegede Slams Pastor Femi Lazarus Over Menstruation Comment

Actress Yvonne Jegede has slammed Pastor Femi Lazarus for dismissing women’s menstrual pain as attitude issues.

She urged men to avoid trivializing biological experiences they have never endured.

Nollywood actress Yvonne Jegede has criticized Pastor Femi Lazarus of the Light Nation Church, Abuja, for his controversial remarks about women’s menstrual cycles.

The pastor faced public outrage after a video of one of his sermons went viral. In the clip, he dismissed the biological basis of mood swings during menstruation, claiming they stem from women’s attitudes rather than hormonal changes. “You are not the first woman to see your period, so your menstruation is not the problem. I have never seen anywhere in the Bible any woman complain about menstrual pain. You are simply not a peaceful person,” he said.

Responding via social media, Jegede condemned the preacher’s comments, urging men not to speak on issues they have never personally experienced. She emphasized that menstruation and hormonal fluctuations are biological realities, not matters of attitude or faith.

“Yesterday I saw a trending video of a clergyman seemingly trivializing menstrual pain. If you’ve never experienced the hormonal changes that women go through during their periods, ovulation, and pregnancy, please don’t make bold statements about things you haven’t experienced. Men, please be kind,” she wrote.
