Hilda Baci Donates N2 million to Support Justice for Late Ochanya Ogbanje
Chef Hilda Baci has donated N2 million to support organizations pursuing justice for late teenager Ochanya Ogbanje.
She said true justice means helping survivors heal and honoring victims’ memories.
Guinness World Record-holding chef, Hilda Baci, has donated N2 million to support organizations working to secure justice for 13-year-old Elizabeth Ochanya Ogbanje, who died in 2018 after years of alleged s€xual ab8se by her guardians.

Baci said the young girl’s story moved her deeply, describing Ochanya as someone who should have been protected but was instead failed by those responsible for her care. She noted that real justice involves not only remembering victims but also helping survivors who are still struggling to heal.
Sharing her thoughts on Instagram, she wrote: “A 13-year-old girl who should have been safe, loved, and protected was instead failed by the very people meant to guard her. As I read through her story, I couldn’t stop thinking about how many girls carry wounds like hers and are still here today, trying to find their way back to wholeness.”
Baci explained that the N2 million donation would be divided between two credible NGOs supporting victims of s€xual ab8se. She also invited the public to help choose the organizations that will receive the funds.
“To support that cause, I’m pledging N2,000,000 to organizations working with r@pe and s€xual ab8se survivors. I’d love for you to help me choose two trusted NGOs to receive this donation,” she said.
The chef encouraged Nigerians to contribute to an existing GoFundMe campaign aimed at advancing the legal process and urged those unable to donate financially to show support in other ways.
“Every contribution helps move the legal process forward and strengthens the fight for justice. And if you can’t give financially, that’s okay, you can still lend your voice,” she added.
Baci said the goal is to ensure that no survivor feels abandoned, adding that honoring Ochanya’s memory requires more than online hashtags.
