Kano Man Remanded for Allegedly K!lling Father Over Dispute on Second Marriage
A Kano man has been remanded for allegedly stabbing his father to d€ath after a heated argument over marriage plans.
The tragic fight reportedly began when the father objected to his son’s decision.
A Kano State High Court sitting in the Municipal area has ordered the remand of one Aminu Ismail for allegedly stabbing his father, Malam Dahiru Ahmad, to d€ath during an argument in Unguwar Bai village, Ajingi Local Government Area.

According to reports, the tragic incident occurred after a heated disagreement between father and son over Ismail’s plan to marry a second wife a decision his father reportedly opposed due to the current economic situation.
Prosecution counsel, Barrister Abba Lamido Sorondinki, told the court that the accused had informed his father of his intention to take another wife, but the elder Ahmad advised him against it. The exchange quickly turned violent, and Ismail allegedly attacked his father with a knife, stabbing him several times in the chest.
The victim was said to have d!ed from his injuries before help could reach him.
Following investigations, the police charged Ismail with culpable homicide, an offence contrary to Section 221 of the Penal Code.
The presiding judge ordered that the accused be remanded in custody pending further hearing of the case. The matter has been adjourned for continuation of proceedings.
