Speaking on the 90s Baby Show podcast, the Joromi crooner said her favorite thing about Nigeria is the unique spirit and resilience of its people, which she believes cannot be replicated anywhere else.

“My favorite thing about Nigeria is just the spirit of Nigerians. You can’t replicate it. Nobody else can be a Nigerian other than a Nigerian,” she said. “Even when people try to fake African accents in Hollywood, they never fake a Nigerian accent. Being Nigerian just feels natural  it feels like home.”

However, Simi expressed sadness over the challenges facing the country, noting that many citizens would prefer to remain in Nigeria if conditions were better.

“That’s why I wish the country was better,” she said. “Because I feel like no one would want to leave if things were working.”
