Wolves Fire Manager Vítor Pereira Following Poor Premier League Run

Wolverhampton Wanderers have sacked manager Vítor Pereira after a disastrous start to the Premier League season.

The club has gone ten league games without a win, sitting bottom of the table.

Wolverhampton Wanderers have parted ways with manager Vítor Pereira following a poor start to the Premier League season, which saw the team lose eight of their opening ten matches without recording a single victory.

The decision comes with Wolves languishing at the bottom of the league table after a 3-0 defeat to Fulham at Craven Cottage, a result that intensified pressure on the Portuguese coach. Frustrated fans reportedly chanted for his dismissal during the game.

Pereira’s exit marks a disappointing chapter for both the club and the manager, who signed a new three-year contract just over a month ago. Reports suggest that his deal included a clause that allowed the club to end the contract early without paying its full value.

Tensions between Pereira and supporters had been growing in recent weeks. The situation worsened after a loss to Burnley, when the coach was seen exchanging angry words with fans in the stands before being restrained by staff.

Since joining Wolves in December last year, Pereira managed 38 matches, achieving 14 wins, five draws, and 19 defeats. Despite showing early promise in cup competitions, his side’s struggles in the league proved decisive. Wolves’ only two victories this season came in the Carabao Cup before being eliminated by Chelsea in a 4-3 thriller.

The club’s record of going winless in their first ten league matches for two consecutive seasons is the worst in Premier League history.

A statement from the club confirmed that the search for a new manager has already begun, as Wolves aim to stabilise their season and avoid another relegation battle.

The team will now be led on an interim basis by assistant coach James Collins while the board evaluates potential long-term replacements.
