Deeper Life Ministry Denounces Fake Report Linking Pastor Kumuyi to Anti-US Comments
Deeper Life Ministry has debunked a viral report falsely quoting Pastor William Kumuyi on U.S. and Nigeria.
The church said the story was fabricated and warned against using his name for politics.
The Deeper Christian Life Ministry has dismissed as false a viral online report claiming that its General Superintendent, Pastor William F. Kumuyi, made remarks about the United States and denied the persecution of Christians in Nigeria.

The fake report, published by a platform identified as Ibomfocus, was titled “America is Trying to Steal Our Natural Resources; There is No Christian Genocide in Nigeria, says Pastor Kumuyi.”
In a statement released Sunday through its official handle, @dclmhq, the Church described the story as “malicious and entirely fabricated.” It clarified that Pastor Kumuyi neither addressed any press conference in Lagos nor made such comments as alleged.
“Pastor Kumuyi did not at any time address a press conference or make the alleged statement in Lagos. He has been out of the country for a while, holding programmes in the Oceania region and the Far East,” the statement read.
The ministry emphasized that the respected preacher remains committed to spreading the gospel and does not engage in political debates. “Pastor Kumuyi is known for focusing on the gospel of Jesus Christ and does not involve himself in political matters,” it added.
Deeper Life Ministry cautioned individuals or groups attempting to use Pastor Kumuyi’s name for political or harmful purposes to stop, warning that further attempts could attract legal action.
It also urged the public and media outlets to always verify information before publication and to disregard the false story in circulation.
