Gunmen have killed two men in Oriuzor community

The victims, identified as Ogele Ifeanyi, a barber, and Nweke Emmanuel, a tricycle operator, were attacked on Saturday night, November 1, 2025. Witnesses said the assailants, suspected to be members of the Vikings confraternity, stormed the community around 10 p.m. and shot both men.

According to local sources, Ifeanyi was the main target of the attack and was allegedly a member of the Neo Black Movement (NBM), also known as Aye. It was gathered that he had been on the radar of the rival cult group, which accused him of being involved in the k!lling of one of their senior members. The assault was reportedly a revenge strike.

The second victim, Emmanuel, was said to be an innocent bystander. Residents claimed he had stopped at the barbershop for a haircut when the gunmen arrived. He was caught in the crossfire and k!lled on the spot.

Residents of Oriuzor have since expressed fear over the renewed cult clashes, calling on security agencies to act swiftly to prevent further violence. They urged the government to deploy more personnel to the area to restore peace and protect lives.

Confirming the incident, the spokesperson for the Ebonyi State Police Command, Joshua Ukandu, said the two victims were k!lled around 10 p.m. on Saturday. “The incident occurred on November 1, 2025, around 10 p.m. The command is currently investigating the case,” Ukandu stated.
