Davido, Burna Boy, Ayra Starr, Wizkid, and Omah Lay Earn Nominations for 2026 Grammy Awards
Top Nigerian artistes have bagged nominations for the 2026 Grammy Awards.
Davido, Burna Boy, Ayra Starr, Wizkid, and Omah Lay made the list in major categories.
The nominations for the 2026 Grammy Awards have been announced, with several top Nigerian artistes making the list in major global categories.

According to reports, Davido, Omah Lay, Burna Boy, Ayra Starr, and Wizkid have all been nominated for the 68th Annual Grammy Awards, marking another milestone for Afrobeats on the global stage.
Davido’s “With You,” featuring Omah Lay, received a nomination in the Best African Music Performance category. The track will compete alongside Burna Boy’s “Love,” Ayra Starr’s “Gimme Dat” featuring Wizkid, “Hope & Love” by Uganda’s Eddy Kenzo and Mehran Matin, and “PUSH 2 START” by South Africa’s Tyla.
Burna Boy also secured a second nomination in the Best Global Music Album category for his project “No Sign of Weakness.”
In that category, he will go up against Senegalese legend Youssou N’Dour with “Eclairer le Monde (Light the World),” Beninese icon Angélique Kidjo with “Jerusalema (Live Performance),” and Indian sitarist Anoushka Shankar with “Chapter III: We Return to Light.”
The 2026 Grammy Awards ceremony is scheduled to take place on Sunday, February 1, 2026, at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles. The event will honour musical recordings released between August 31, 2024, and August 30, 2025.
This year’s edition also features two newly introduced categories, Best Traditional Country Album and Best Album Cover, reflecting the Recording Academy’s continued efforts to celebrate a broader range of musical creativity.
