CAF Unveils ‘ITRI’ as Official Match Ball for AFCON 2025
CAF has unveiled the official match ball for the 2025 AFCON in Morocco.
The design draws from Morocco’s rich cultural heritage and will debut in the tournament’s opening match.
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has officially revealed the match ball that will be used for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, set to take place in Morocco.

Named ITRI, the ball takes its design inspiration from Morocco’s traditional zellij art, a centuries-old mosaic style that represents the country’s cultural heritage. CAF explained that the name “ITRI,” which means “star” in Amazigh, also pays homage to the symbol on Morocco’s national flag.
The newly designed ball will make its first appearance in the tournament’s opening game between hosts Morocco and Comoros.
The AFCON 2025 competition will officially kick off on Sunday, December 21.
