Actor Baba Ijesha Regains Freedom After Over Three Years in Prison
Baba Ijesha has regained freedom after an Appeal Court overturned key allegations in his case.

Nollywood actor Olanrewaju Omiyinka, popularly known as Baba Ijesha, has been released from prison after spending more than three years in custody. He walked out of prison on Friday, November 14, 2025, following a decision by the Appeal Court that cleared him of key allegations linked to his case.

Actor Yomi Fabiyi confirmed the development in a post shared on Instagram. He announced that Baba Ijesha had officially regained his freedom and expressed relief over the court’s ruling. According to him, “You are now officially free and out. Baba Ijesha is not just back but better.” Fabiyi also added that the Appeal Court cleared the actor of claims that he had s3xual contact with a child, saying the earlier story involving a seven-year-old was not accurate.
Baba Ijesha had previously been sentenced to 16 years in prison on July 14, 2022, by the Lagos State High Court after he was convicted of s3xually ass@ulting a 14-year-old girl. His release marks a major turn in the long-running case that attracted nationwide attention.
