Wike: Those Behind My Reported Expulsion Were Intoxicated
Wike has rejected claims of his removal from the PDP after reports surfaced from the Ibadan convention.
His aide said the announcement lacked legitimacy and should be ignored by the public.
Newskobo.com earlier reported that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) announced the expulsion of Nyesom Wike, Ayodele Fayose, Samuel Anyanwu and several others over alleged anti-party activities.
Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has dismissed reports that he has been expelled from the Peoples Democratic Party. The development followed an announcement at the PDP national convention in Ibadan, where some party leaders claimed that Wike, former National Secretary Samuel Anyanwu, and former Ekiti State governor Ayodele Fayose had been removed from the party.

The motion for their expulsion was moved by Chief Olabode George, a former National Vice Chairman of the party in the South, and seconded by Bauchi PDP Chairman Hon. Samaila Burga. The announcement quickly spread online and generated strong reactions across political circles.
But when contacted, Lere Olayinka, Senior Special Assistant on Publicity and Communications to the FCT Minister, said the expulsion should not be taken seriously. He claimed that those making the announcement were simply enjoying themselves at the Ibadan gathering.
According to him, the individuals behind the move were “intoxicated” and treating the convention like an early festive outing. He added that whatever they said at the event should be ignored, noting that people who choose to begin their December celebrations early often make statements that do not reflect reality.
He insisted that the minister remains unbothered by the claim and that the alleged expulsion has no real effect, as it did not follow any legitimate party process.
