Federal High Court Announces 2025 Christmas Vacation and List of Vacation Judges
The Federal High Court has announced its 2025 Christmas Vacation schedule and duty judges.
The court said select divisions will open for urgent cases during the holiday period.
The Federal High Court has released the official notice for its 2025 Christmas Vacation along with the approved list of judges who will be on duty during the break. The announcement was made through a circular signed by the Chief Judge of the Federal High Court of Nigeria, Justice John Terhemba Tsoho.
According to the circular, the Christmas Vacation will begin on Friday, 19 December 2025. The statement explained that the schedule follows the provisions of Order 46, Rule 4(c) of the Federal High Court Civil Procedure Rules of 2019. All court divisions across the country will resume regular sittings on Wednesday, 7 January 2026.
The Director of Information of the Federal High Court, Catherine Oby Christopher, said the Abuja, Lagos and Port Harcourt Judicial Divisions will remain open throughout the vacation period to serve members of the public. She noted that the Vacation Judges will only attend to cases on fundamental rights, the arrest or release of vessels, and matters that require urgent attention at the national level.

Justice Tsoho also conveyed goodwill messages to all judges of the Federal High Court, wishing them a joyful Christmas celebration and a successful New Year ahead.
