Expelled National Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, Senator Samuel Anyanwu, has said the major cause of the current crisis rocking the PDP is the role played by its governors. He made the statement during an interview on Channels Television’s “Politics Today,” where he insisted that he would not accept blame for problems he believes were created by others.

Anyanwu explained that the PDP Governors’ Forum contributed to the instability that has continued to weaken the party. He noted that while many people have pointed fingers at him, the real issue lies in the way the governors handled key decisions and internal processes.

“The truth of the matter is that I will hold the Governors’ Forum responsible for whatever is happening to the party today,” he said during the interview. He added that founding members of the party had already walked away because they were unhappy with the direction the PDP was heading.

The former Imo State governorship candidate also revealed that at one point, the governors asked that the amended constitution of the party should formally recognize the Governors’ Forum as one of its organs. According to him, this request signaled an attempt to increase their control, which later contributed to deeper divisions.

Anyanwu maintained that he will continue to speak on the real issues, stressing that the party must admit the truth if it wants to rebuild and regain stability.
