ADC Coalition Will End APC’s Rule in 2027, Says Kenneth Okonkwo
Kenneth Okonkwo believes APC will fall in 2027 with strong opposition working together.
He promises to support any candidate that puts Nigerians first and wants real change.
Veteran Nollywood actor and lawyer, Kenneth Okonkwo, has declared that the All Progressives Congress (APC) will be defeated in the 2027 general elections. He said the African Democratic Congress (ADC), in alliance with other opposition groups, is ready to offer a fresh and united alternative for Nigerians.
Speaking at a strategic meeting of the newly formed coalition, Okonkwo stressed that the group is more concerned about improving the lives of Nigerians than gaining political power.
“This party is not about power,” he said. “This party is about the welfare of Nigerians. If there is no new arrangement that I’m sure will take care of the welfare of Nigerians, I will stay in my house and pray.”
Describing the ADC as a beacon of hope, he said it stands ready to bring Nigerians out of what he called the “darkness” caused by the current administration.
“When you shine light in darkness, darkness disappears. APC will not understand what hits them,” he declared.
Okonkwo also highlighted Article 3 of the ADC Constitution, which states that the party’s motto is “in pursuit of the welfare of our people and the nation.” He said this aligns with the coalition’s goal of building a peaceful and prosperous Nigeria where everyone can contribute meaningfully.
Reacting to questions about former members of the APC and PDP joining the coalition, Okonkwo said people learn from their past actions.
“Your best teacher is your last mistake,” he said. “All the people that have been in power in Nigeria and did not do what they ought to do at that time are reaping it.”
He further explained that the coalition is focused on collaboration and unity, not just party identity. When asked if he would support Labour Party’s Peter Obi should he emerge as the presidential candidate of the coalition, Okonkwo replied, “This is now the time of the coalition, not individual parties. I can guarantee you that anybody that emerges from this coalition, I will work with the person.”
Addressing fears about infiltration or internal sabotage by APC members, Okonkwo said the ADC has taken steps to guard against such risks.
“Of course, when you are in a battle with somebody, you send your own spies. We will search out any infiltrator and give him the treatment that is given to spies,” he warned.
He predicted a decline in the APC’s influence, saying recent conflicts within the ruling party are signs of its weakening structure.
“Before long, APC people will be in hiding because the shame that will come upon them, they will not even be able to talk and speak to Nigerians again,” he said.
The ADC-led coalition is working to unite the opposition and provide a solid platform for Nigerians who desire change in leadership, improved governance, and relief from current economic and security problems.
