Soludo Pays N50 Million for Anambra Governorship Campaign Permit
Governor Soludo pays ₦50m for campaign permit ahead of Anambra’s 2025 governorship election.
The move clears APGA to begin state-wide promotions as 11 other candidates lag behind.
Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State has fulfilled the financial requirement set by the Anambra Signage and Advertising Agency (ANSAA) by paying N50 million for a political campaign permit ahead of the upcoming November 8, 2025, governorship election.
With this payment, Governor Soludo, representing the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), joins a few other contenders who have also complied with the directive. These include Paul Chukwuma of the Young Progressives Party (YPP), George Moghalu of the Labour Party, Jeff Nweke of Action Alliance (AA), and John Nwosu of the African Democratic Congress (ADC). However, 11 other governorship hopefuls are still yet to meet the agency’s requirement.
The permit was obtained on behalf of the governor by his Special Adviser on Political Matters, Dr. Alex Obiogbolu, who visited the ANSAA office with a bank draft. The Managing Director of ANSAA, Tony Ujubuonu, received the payment and officially handed over the campaign permit.
“This political campaign permit empowers APGA to begin deploying campaign materials and promotional activities across Anambra State, including posters, branded vehicles, public address systems, banners, fliers, and T-shirts used in street storms, rallies, and more in all 21 local government areas of Anambra State,” Ujubuonu stated.
He added that the move demonstrated APGA’s readiness to run an orderly and visible campaign that adheres to the agency’s standards. ANSAA had earlier cautioned that parties that failed to comply would face penalties.
