Heirs Technologies Graduates New Cloud, Cybersecurity Experts to Boost Africa’s Digital Workforce
Heirs Technologies celebrates fresh graduates trained in cloud computing and cybersecurity at Lagos academy.
The firm affirms commitment to bridging Africa’s tech skills gap through talent development.
In a significant stride toward advancing Africa’s digital economy, Heirs Technologies has celebrated the graduation of a new batch of young tech professionals from its i-Academy Supplementary Technical Engineering Program (STEP), a three-month intensive training designed to equip participants with industry-relevant skills in Cloud Computing and Cybersecurity.

The graduation ceremony, held at Heirs Technologies’ training center in Lagos, marked another milestone in the company’s mission to bridge the continent’s growing digital skills gap. Since its launch in 2023, i-Academy has trained over 100 candidates through practical, hands-on instruction in key technology fields, including network infrastructure, IT operations, cloud engineering, cybersecurity, and software development.
Heirs Technologies Managing Director Obong Idiong applauded the graduates for their resilience and dedication, calling them “the future of Africa’s technology industry.”
“We are immensely proud of our graduates,” he stated. “At Heirs Technologies, we are not just building a business; we are developing people who will shape the future of our continent.”
Echoing the sentiment, Ivy Ikpeme-Mbakwem, Vice President of i-Academy, emphasized the growing demand for cybersecurity and cloud professionals globally, urging the graduates to remain disciplined, curious, and committed as they move forward in their careers.
The recently concluded cohorts underwent hands-on assessments and real-world simulations led by Heirs Technologies’ in-house experts.
- The Cloud Computing cohort learned to deploy applications in cloud environments, design enterprise architecture models, manage infrastructure access, and implement secure identity protocols.
- The Cybersecurity cohort focused on threat detection, vulnerability assessments, identity and access management, and incident response strategies all tailored to address contemporary security threats.
Beyond technical skills, the curriculum also featured mentorship sessions, soft skills training, and exposure to advanced tools and enterprise frameworks, ensuring a well-rounded education aligned with global industry standards.
Looking ahead, Heirs Technologies plans to expand the i-Academy program to include tracks in Artificial Intelligence, Data Analytics, and Technical Support, positioning itself as a leading driver of homegrown talent in Africa’s tech ecosystem.
“This is just the beginning,” said Ikpeme-Mbakwem. “We are laying the foundation for a digitally empowered Africa.”
With the successful graduation of these cohorts, Heirs Technologies reinforces its vision of an inclusive innovation culture, one that prioritizes human capital development as a core engine for national and continental growth.
