Dominica Chinwe has accused Mohbad’s widow, Wunmi, of betrayal and falsehoods that ruined her life.
In an emotional interview, she claimed Wunmi spread damaging lies and incited public attacks against her.
Dominica Chinwe, a woman who claims to have been a close friend of the late Nigerian singer Mohbad, has made shocking allegations against the artist’s widow, Wunmi. In a revealing interview with social commentator VeryDarkMan (VDM), Dominica accused Wunmi of manipulating events and spreading falsehoods that nearly destroyed her life.
Dominica said her emotional turmoil lasted over two years, triggered by what she described as Wunmi’s betrayal and a campaign of misinformation. Her latest revelations follow an earlier account of the infamous NDLEA raid, during which she alleged Mohbad was beaten by operatives. According to Dominica, her fallout with Wunmi began shortly after that incident.
“What I’m about to share now, I can swear with any juju because Wunmi almost destroyed my life. I was depressed for about two years because she made life miserable for me,” she said emotionally.
Dominica claimed that following their release from NDLEA custody, Wunmi urged her to fabricate a story for Naira Marley falsely alleging that Mohbad was poisoned by the agency.
“She told me to tell Naira Marley that I saw NDLEA give Mohbad something to drink, but I refused. Naira Marley had called to ask me directly, and I told him the truth that I didn’t see anything like that,” Dominica said. “Wunmi barged into my house after that, shouting and accusing me of betraying her and Mohbad.”
She clarified that Mohbad had only requested water while in custody and drank from a bottle already on the table which she later finished herself. By then, public attention had already mounted due to a viral video from the scene.
Dominica further alleged that Wunmi accused her of being the anonymous gossip blogger, Gistlover, and claimed she was leaking private information to blogs, including NaijaEverything. One blog even published a false story suggesting she was dating Mohbad and pregnant with his child.
“Wunmi was right beside me in my room when the blog post came out. I showed her, and she said I should use it for clout. She even tried to repost it. I grabbed my phone, messaged the blog, and they deleted the post and apologized,” she recalled.
Despite clearing the air, Dominica said the damage escalated. Wunmi allegedly told their mutual friends and housemates that Dominica was leaking private info about influencer Papaya to Gistlover.
“Papaya and a guy ganged up and beat me while others watched and even hyped them. They made a video asking me to confess. It was humiliating,” Dominica said, breaking down in tears. “Wunmi was the one I introduced to all of them as my friend, so it was easy for them to believe everything she said.”
