Iyabo Ojo Speaks About Her Police Invitation Over 2023 Live Video on Mohbad’s Death

Iyabo Ojo says police invited her over a 2023 live video linked to Mohbad’s death probe.

She explained the summons was tied to cyberbullying claims made after demanding justice online.

Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo has revealed that she was invited by the Nigeria Police Force over allegations of cyberbullying linked to a live video she made in 2023.

Taking to her Instagram page on Thursday, the actress shared that she was summoned to the National Cybercrime Centre in Abuja. The reason, she explained, was tied to a video where she called out certain individuals in connection with the controversial death of singer Mohbad.

“I was recently invited by the Nigeria Police Force, National Cybercrime Centre, Abuja, over petitions bordering on cyberbullying & other allegations concerning the live video I recorded a few years ago. In that video, I requested certain individuals to make themselves available for investigation into Mohbad’s sudden death in order to prove their innocence or otherwise,” she said.

The new development comes months after the police cleared Naira Marley and Sam Larry of any involvement in Mohbad’s passing.

Mohbad died in September 2023 under circumstances that sparked public outrage, especially after disturbing clips surfaced online showing him being harassed by his former label boss, Naira Marley, and associate Sam Larry.

Iyabo Ojo was one of the loudest voices demanding justice at the time, a stance that led to the arrests of the two men in October 2023. By December, Naira Marley had slammed the actress with a N500 million defamation demand and asked for a public apology.

In response, Iyabo countered with a N1 billion lawsuit of her own.
