Senator Natasha Drives Development in Kogi Central with Key Projects in Markets, Education, and Health

Kogi Central came alive this week as Senator Natasha launched projects in trade, health, and education.

New markets, computers, and medical tools are set to transform lives across the district.

Kogi Central witnessed a wave of development this week as Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan rolled out several impactful initiatives across the district, targeting economic empowerment, digital education, and healthcare advancement.

In a major push to stimulate local trade and empower small-scale business owners, the Senator inaugurated the construction of two ultra-modern markets in Okene and Okehi Local Government Areas. The projects are expected to enhance commercial activity, provide jobs, and uplift the living standards of traders and artisans within the rural communities.

The week also saw a significant boost to digital learning in the district. Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan donated 700 new computers to African African American Mission College (AAAMC) in Okene, formerly known as Premier Secondary School of the old Kabba Province. Community leaders and education advocates have praised the intervention, saying it will help bridge the digital gap and equip students with critical ICT skills in today’s tech-driven world.

Healthcare infrastructure also received a spotlight as the Senator visited the Federal Medical Centre in Lokoja. Her inspection focused on the newly installed state-of-the-art Revolution CT Scanner by General Electric, a high-end diagnostic tool worth several billions of naira. The equipment was provided through a partnership between the Nigerian Liquefied Natural Gas (NLNG) and the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB), and is expected to enhance the center’s diagnostic capabilities, benefiting patients not just in Kogi but from neighboring regions.

Speaking during the series of events, Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan expressed deep appreciation to the people of Kogi Central for their continued support and goodwill. She noted that the projects were a reflection of her promise to deliver grassroots-focused representation and transformative service.

“There was so much laughter, warmth, and heartfelt prayers from ordinary citizens who find joy in life’s simplest improvements,” she said. “I consider it a privilege to serve and to be a conduit for meaningful change.”

The events drew large crowds of residents, traditional rulers, and community groups, who commended the Senator for her hands-on leadership and people-first approach. Many described her as a breath of fresh air in public service, applauding her efforts to directly respond to the needs of the people through tangible, life-improving initiatives.

With these moves, Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan continues to solidify her position as a responsive and development-focused leader in Kogi Central.
