Ubi Franklin Mourns Sister’s Death, Recalls How She Shaped His Life
Ubi Franklin has lost his sister to cancer, describing her as his greatest life influence.
He shared emotional memories, calling her the reason behind the Ubi Franklin the world knows.
Nigerian music executive Ubi Franklin is currently grieving over the loss of his sister, who died battling cancer.

Sharing the heartbreaking news on social media, Ubi described her as a life-giver and a major influence in shaping the person he is today.
He wrote:
“Today, death visited me and took one of the most precious gifts life handed me… my sister. The one who birthed the Ubi Franklin you all know. The one who opened my eyes to what life truly is.”
Ubi reflected on how things changed after their father’s death in 2004. He went to live with his sister and her husband in Abuja. During a trip she arranged in 2005, he visited Lagos for the first time, a visit that marked the start of his career.
“She would always remind me: ‘Before anyone else, you were my PA.’ She never stopped calling me that, even in her final days.”
According to him, they spent quality time together from April until early July before he travelled to the UK. When he said goodbye on July 3rd, he hoped they would meet again. Days later, she returned to Abuja and was taken to the ICU.
“I did everything within my power to make it to Abuja. But while I was airborne… she passed on.”
He arrived in Abuja at about 4:20 am but didn’t learn of her death until hours later.
Despite the pain, Ubi expressed gratitude for her life and the impact she had on him.
“This is one of the biggest losses of my life. But I am thankful I got to know her, walk with her, and be shaped by her.”
He described her as selfless and kind.
“This hurts deeply. It has left a scar in my heart. But I will forever love you. And I know… you’re in a better place.” He added.
