Buhari Ordered Lekki Tollgate Shooting, Says Portable in Controversial Tribute

Portable has reacted fiercely to Buhari’s death, accusing him of ordering the 2020 Lekki shooting.

He mocked public indifference, saying Nigerians were more focused on a Chelsea football match.

Controversial Nigerian singer, Habeeb Olalomi Badmus, popularly known as Portable, has reacted to the death of former President Muhammadu Buhari, who passed away recently in a London hospital after a long illness.

In a video shared on social media, Portable expressed strong views about the former president’s legacy, claiming Buhari was responsible for the 2020 Lekki tollgate shooting during the EndSARS protests. He insisted that Buhari, not Bola Tinubu, gave the order that led to the violence against protesters.

In the video, Portable went on to say the late president would “die again in heaven” and warned people to be cautious in mourning him. He described Buhari as a “co-leader” and “father” figure to the country.

Speaking further, Portable demanded accountability and criticized Buhari’s time in office. He alleged that the late president acquired properties but failed to invest in proper hospitals for Nigerians. The singer also lamented the state of the nation’s health system.

He noted that the public reaction to Buhari’s death was not filled with sorrow, adding that many Nigerians were more interested in watching a Chelsea football match on the night the news broke.

“It was Chelsea’s match that they used to bury Buhari,” he said mockingly.
