Baba Fryo Speaks on 2Face and Annie’s Failed Marriage, Says Most Musicians Struggle in Marriage
Baba Fryo believes 2Face and Annie’s marriage suffered from imbalance and lack of control.
He says entertainers often struggle in relationships and warns that fame attracts insincere love.
Veteran Nigerian singer Baba Fryo has shared his thoughts on the separation between music icon 2Face and his ex-wife Annie Idibia.

Speaking during a recent episode of The Honest Bunch podcast, Baba Fryo said the couple didn’t handle their marriage well, suggesting that both being in the entertainment industry may have contributed to the breakup.
“2Face and his (ex) wife didn’t manage themselves well. They are both entertainers. Annie is an actress and 2Face is a musician,” he said.
He explained how the lack of balance in the relationship could have affected the marriage.
“In marriage, when the couple are out, it’s the woman’s duty to watch the man. When the man is drinking, the woman will be watching him, and if he is drinking too much, the woman will calm him. But if you marry a woman who also drinks, when you’re both drunk, who will take the other home?” he added.
Fryo went on to say that a man in such a situation might feel insecure and begin to look outside for something different.
“When a man sees that, he will become insecure in the marriage. And when he goes out and sees another woman with a different attitude… I’m not saying it’s a good attitude oh, because even 2Face’s current lover, Natasha, she is someone I have known since she was three years old. I carried her on my legs. Her father, Desmond, and I were friends.”
The Dem Go Dey Pose crooner also gave his general view on marriage and musicians. He claimed that most musicians struggle with marriage, except in rare cases.
“Most musicians don’t enjoy marriage, except they are lying,” he said. “They are not enjoying their marriages. Their spouses don’t understand their profession. Go and verify what I am saying.”
He further added, “Most musicians thrive better when they are unmarried. It’s just a few of them who are still thriving after marriage maybe because their spouses already knew and accepted them for who they are.”
Speaking on how he personally manages romantic relationships, Baba Fryo noted that he approaches women with caution.
“I don’t take them too seriously because I know it was my fame that attracted them to me. I thank God that I’m able to manage women because it takes wisdom to handle women,” he said.
