Dr. Kandibe Ejiofor slams Buhari for neglecting Nigeria’s health sector after dying in UK hospital.
She says true leadership means building local systems leaders can trust and personally depend on.
Dr. Kandibe Ejiofor, sister to Hollywood actor Chiwetel Ejiofor, has criticized late former President Muhammadu Buhari for failing to improve Nigeria’s healthcare system during his time in office.
Reacting to Buhari’s death in a UK hospital, Kandibe expressed her frustration over his decision to seek medical care abroad rather than develop the health sector at home.
Sharing her thoughts via Instagram, she wrote: “Served as Nigerian president for 8 years! D!ed in a UK hospital. What a shame he couldn’t do anything for the state of healthcare in Nigeria…even he carried himself abroad to treat himself. What a message.”
The UK-based doctor added that she awaits the presence of a president that will put in place, good systems in Nigeria: “Patiently waiting for a president that will build systems in Nigeria, that they are proud of and will patronage.”
