Nasarawa Permanent Secretary Yusuf Musa abducted from Lafia home, sparking statewide police manhunt.
Authorities urge public support as tactical teams sweep major routes to rescue the kidnapped official.
Barrister Yusuf Musa, the Permanent Secretary of the Nasarawa State Ministry of Information, Tourism, and Culture, has been reportedly abducted by suspected gunmen from his residence in the Shinge area of Lafia, the state capital.

The Nasarawa State Police Command confirmed the incident on Tuesday, describing it as a suspected case of kidnapping. A full-scale manhunt has now been launched across the state in a bid to rescue the victim and apprehend the culprits.
According to a statement issued by the command’s spokesperson, DSP Ramhan Nansel, the abduction was discovered in the early hours of Tuesday, July 15, by officers on routine patrol from B Division, Lafia.
“At about 3:05 a.m., a patrol team found a Peugeot pick-up van with its doors left wide open in a suspicious manner. Upon closer inspection, the officers noticed that the gate to a nearby residence was also left ajar, prompting immediate concern,” the statement read.
A search of the compound revealed that Barrister Musa was missing, along with his GMC vehicle, which bears registration number KUJ 88 PA.
The discovery triggered a swift response from the state Commissioner of Police, Shetima Jauro Mohammed, who ordered the deployment of tactical teams and surveillance across key locations in the state. Police formations in Akwanga, Andaha, Garaku, and Kadarko have been mobilized, while checkpoints and patrols have been intensified along major routes.
“The Commissioner has ordered an intensive manhunt across Nasarawa and reiterated the Command’s firm commitment to securing the safe return of the victim and bringing the perpetrators to justice,” the statement added.
The police urged members of the public to stay vigilant and cooperate with law enforcement by providing any useful information that could aid the investigation.
